Today, we take a moment to remember former committee member June Savage, whose dedication and service left a meaningful and lasting impact.
June Savage was welcomed into the Josephine Butler Society as she offered to take the minutes for us, also the Josephine Butler Educational Trust.
It was at a time when the duties of Honorary Secretary were divided between different Executive Committee members and June was known to Joan Watts through Brownies where June took their minutes, also for another voluntary organisation. June soon became a much appreciated committee member being constant in her attendance at meetings and for her cheerfulness and indomitability against her physical disabilities , how she fought them was outstanding. In fact one could say she ignored them with determination.
When our venue was no longer at St. Peter’s Eaton Square apart from AGMs, June kindly hosted them at her home.
She is gratefully remembered for her help and kindness and generosity of spirit, she is missed for these attributes and also as a friend.
